Why GitHub Issues Importer in Nimbalyst?

Your GitHub issues describe the work; your Nimbalyst tracker is where that work connects to sessions, plans, commits, and decisions. This importer brings issues across as native tracker items — typed as bugs, tasks, or features based on their labels — so agents and teammates can work with them like any other tracked item.

Each imported item links back to its source issue, so you can always jump to the original discussion on GitHub. Authentication goes through your installed GitHub CLI (gh), so there are no extra tokens to configure — whatever repos you can access from your terminal, you can import from.

Key Features

  • Native tracker items — Imported issues become first-class tracker items with status, type, and full markdown bodies.
  • Label-aware typing — Bug, task, and feature labels map to the matching tracker item type.
  • Source links — Every imported item keeps a link back to its GitHub issue.
  • GitHub CLI auth — Uses your existing gh login; private repos work without additional setup.

Use Cases

  • Triage in your workspace — Pull recent issues into the tracker and prioritize alongside your existing work.
  • Agent-driven fixes — Import an issue, link a session to it, and let an agent work the fix with full context.
  • Team visibility — Share imported items with your team so GitHub work shows up in shared views.
